How InSPECS™ Works:
An executable file (.exe) collects detailed technical data about the user's PC hardware.
This information can be immediately displayed to the user, and/or sent to a Panopsys server for further analysis.
Optionally, a customized web page is presented to the user containing information and/or product offers determined by their unique hardware specifications.

InSPECS™ FAQ:
Q1: Why doesn't InSPECS™ use ActiveX?
A1: Microsoft® VISTA™ is not very friendly toward complex ActiveX™ controls that require administrator-level privileges.  In order to be as cross-release Windows™
compatible as possible, InSPECS™ is now an executable file, which allows it to be manifested independently of Internet Explorer running under VISTA™.

Q2: Aren't executable files a security risk?
A2: The InSPECS™ executable file (.exe) is digitally signed by Microsoft Authenticode™, which means it is certified to be safe and free of any sort of malicious code.

Q3: What about other operating systems?
A3: InSPECS™ is currently available for Microsoft Windows™ only.  Future additions are planned.

Q4: What about non-Microsoft browsers?
A4: Non-Microsoft browsers (Opera, Firefox, Mozilla, etc...) are fully compatible with InSPECS™.

InSPECS™ is a web-based hardware detection engine. InSPECS™ can be used by any website to remotely scan and analyze a user's PC, deliver that technical information to you, and/or dynamically generate customized web pages based on the visitor's hardware specifications.

If your website sells or supports:
Memory: InSPECS™ shows visitors to your website their current memory size, type, speed, and whether or not there are empty memory slots available.

USB devices (digital cameras, printers, scanners, external drives, etc...): InSPECS™ informs your visitors whether or not their PC has a USB interface, as well as the USB version (1.1 or 2.0).

Games: With InSPECS™, you can tell visitors to your website whether or not a particular game will work on their PC, based on their CPU, memory, video card, DirectX version, etc...

Printer Ink and toner supplies: InSPECS™ can automatically display the printers that are attached to a user's PC or network, and optionally present the user with product choices that match only the printers they own (see Case Study, below).

Graphics cards: InSPECS™ detects the type of card currently in use, the current slot-type it is using, and available slot types for upgrades (AGP, PCI, PCI-E, etc...).

And much more...
